Frequently Asked Questions

Are you dog friendly?

We love seeing your dogs on holiday at Ferry View! Outside your pitch, we ask they are kept on leads and always clean up after them!

Do you have WIFI?

We do have WIFI available for guests on the bus, but this doesn't cover everywhere on site. We do also have board games & books on the bus and a games area for you to make use of, for those who want to disconnect.

Is there food on site?

Yes, Mr Eddy's, our on site takeaway, provides a selection of meals and drinks.  Head over to Mr Eddy's page to see what's on offer.

What time is check-in (& out)?

You can check in anytime between 1pm & 8pm, although this can be flexible.  We will contact you the day before you arrive to ask for an ETA.  If you think you will be arriving after 8pm, just get in touch. Check out is Midday.

When do you close the gates?

We don't!  You are free to come and go as you please after check in - it's your holiday after all! All we ask is that if you are coming back in late (after 10.30pm), you do so as quietly as possible.

Can I have a BBQ on my pitch?

Yes, we do allow BBQ's on the pitches.  Each pitch has a concrete slab for BBQ's.  Please be careful when BBQing and keep an eye on the kids & pets.  Remember not to pitch your tent or awning too close!

How do I book?

Booking is easy!  Either use the online booking button on the website, drop us an email, head over to our contact page, or just give us a ring on 07591540400.  Easy as that!

When do I pay for my pitch?

Payment is on arrival either by cash or card (or phone, or watch, or even a ring - yes, we have had someone pay with a payment ring!).

Do you have "Quiet Time"?

To make sure that everyone enjoys their holiday, we do ask that everyone is quiet on the pitches from 10.30pm in the evening.  If you are wanting to stay up and chat, we do have a firepit area away from the pitches which can be used.

Are the bathroom facilities ever locked?

Apparently this does happen on some campsites, but no, our toilets are available 24/7.  We do run slightly differently to most campsites as we have full bathrooms, rather than cubicles.  We also run a booking system for the showers as we clean the bathroom in between the pitches showering.  Showers are booked on arrival, and there are plenty of slots.

What's on site to do?

We try to make sure that there's plenty to do for all ages, whatever the weather (even summer in Caithness can be unpredictable!).

On Mr. Eddy's Bus we have a large selection of board games, books and a couple of packs of cards for when the weathers not too good.

For when the sun is shining, we have our communal games area which has Giant Jenga, Giant Draughts (Checkers), Ladybird & Bee Tic Tac Toe, Swingball and a Football Goal.  There's also our Woodland Walk (watch out for the fairies) including Willow Avenue and our Pond (Royston's labour of love!).

Is there always someone available?

Our campsite is family run and we live on site too so are available 24/7 in case of emergency.  The Ferry View mobile is never switched off and the doorbell is available 24/7.
